Junior Project Engineer

Our field
The operation within maritime and intermodal terminals is highly automated. The individual system solutions for terminal operations are accompanied by complex logic, which together result in optimization the use of CHE (container handling equipment), (IT) systems and resources.

Job profile
We are looking for a dynamic individual, based in the Netherlands, to take on the role of Junior Project Engineer who is ambitious and professional and can thrive in a challenging environment.

The Project engineer is working on automation solutions for large port projects. In this he / she focuses on the preparation of the technical design, documentation and commissioning inside the projects. The Project engineer contributes significantly to the definitive implementation plans with calculations, installation diagrams and knowledge of materials and relevant standards. In this position he / she commits a great deal of coordination with the Sales Engineer, Project Manager, Suppliers and, where necessary, directly with the customer.

The Junior Project Engineer reports in this position to the Manager Projects

Result area’s

  • Responsible for the design and development of the technical installations
  • Technical specification of installations and solutions.
  • Check construction calculations of design, specifications and implementation phases.
  • Producing layouts for block diagrams, cable routing drawings, panel construction drawings for third parties to produce the products.
  • Interpreting functional customer specifications, sales bill of material to an engineering bill of material and technical design documents.
  • Preparation of as-built drawings and documents in accordance with NEN1010 and NEN 5152 standards.
  • Reviewing drawings and block diagrams supplied by suppliers.
  • Understand AutoCad drawings.
  • Providing and visualizing innovative and creative ideas in the field of automation and system integration.
  • Reporting and supplying input to project manager.
  • Being part of a project team with corresponding responsibilities and supervising the composition of project documents.

Other qualifications:

  • Completed MBO Electrical Engineering (level 3 or 4) or related
  • Good Dutch and English language skills in speech and writing
  • Living and allowed to work in the Netherlands
  • Experience with AutoCad
  • preferably knowledge of applicable regulations such as NEN1010, NEN3140, NEN5152, etc.
  • In possession of a valid driver’s license
  • Willing to travel internationally


  • 40 hour working week
  • Half year contract and after good performance a contract for an indefinite period
  • Market-level salary and follow-up CAO Informatie-, Communicatie en Kantoortechnologiebranche (ICK)
