As Project Engineer you are responsible for independently carrying out preparations for deliverable projects. All tasks must be completed within the agreed time and budget. You will work under the supervision of the Manager Operations.

Primary tasks and responsibilities of a CERTUS Project Engineer

Responsible for the design and development of technical installations.
Creating technical specifications for installations and solutions.
Checking structural calculations for design, specification, and execution phases.
Creating layouts for block diagrams, cable drawings, and panel construction drawings for third parties to manufacture the products.
Interpreting functional customer specifications, converting the sales bill of materials into a technical bill of materials, and translating technical design documents.
Preparing as-built drawings and documents according to NEN1010 and NEN 5152 standards.
Reviewing drawings and block diagrams provided by suppliers.
Understanding AutoCAD drawings.
Providing and visualizing innovative and creative ideas in the field of automation and system integration.
Reporting to and providing input to the project manager.
Being part of a project team with associated responsibilities and supervising the compilation of project documents.

Other

You will often work with limited technical information.
You follow general and company-specific regulations, guidelines, and procedures related to quality, health & safety, and environmental care, and you provide instructions and oversight in these areas.
You handle all tasks outlined in the contract or as assigned by the project manager.
You carry out administrative project tasks such as time registration.

Job Requirements

Level of work and thinking

Intermediate Technical School (MTS) level.

Education

Required knowledge equivalent in content and level to MTS(E). Staying up to date with technical developments is important.
VCA Vol, or willingness to obtain it.

Experience

Ideally 2 years of relevant work experience.
Proficiency in MS Office applications.

Complexity

This role of Project Engineer focuses on project preparation and execution. You will deal with many (technical) sub‑areas. You provide technical advice and ensure the technical elaboration. You perform administrative registration tasks. A high degree of accuracy is required. Time pressure may occur due to project agreements.

Independence

You plan your own schedule based on the assigned work. You work within existing ISO, VCA, and Health & Safety guidelines, environmental regulations, and the Personnel Handbook. The complexity of problems varies and may require several years of experience for specific tasks.

Physical aspects

You work both in the office and on-site. Activities regularly take place abroad.
