CERTUS Automation successfully delivered a state-of-the-art AutoGate solution for the Georgia Ports Authority at the Appalachian Regional Port (ARP). This greenfield project enhances operational efficiency and reduces gate congestion, supporting a capacity of 65,000 containers per year.

Project Overview

The Appalachian Regional Port in Georgia, USA serves as an efficient alternative to an all‑truck dray to and from the deep‑water Port of Savannah. As container volumes continued to grow, the port consequently required a modern gate automation system to streamline operations and improve turnaround times.

Key Features of the AutoGate System

> OCR Portals for Incoming & Outgoing Traffic

Our advanced OCR portals capture critical data, including license plate numbers, container codes, ISO codes, and damage images. This ensures accurate and real-time information for all gate transactions, improving visibility and security across the terminal.

> Gate IN & OUT Lanes with Driver Kiosks

The system includes two Gate IN lanes and two Gate OUT lanes, each equipped with driver kiosks and gate control equipment. These kiosks automate the gate process while allowing necessary driver interaction. As a result waiting times are significantly reducedr and overall efficiency is improved.

Integration with N4 Terminal Operating System
